MetroWest Ballet

Jessica Wilson, Director

A Small Suburban School

Before founding MetroWest Ballet in 2005, Ms. Wilson was the Associate Director of Ballet Workshop New England and the Artistic Associate of Massachusetts Youth Ballet. Both of these organizations were founded and directed by renowned teacher, Jacqueline Cronsberg. Mrs. Consberg's semi-retirement closed Ballet Workshop New England's two locations in Hopkinton and Waltham and led to the opening of MetroWest Ballet at the halfway point in the town of Marlborough.

MetroWest Ballet continues on as a small suburban school providing exceptional training and individual attention. In a recent article in Point Magazine, San Francisco Ballet Principal Dancer, Sarah Van Patten, discusses the benefit of training at a small suburban school. Ms. Van Patten received her training at Ballet Workshop New England under the direction of Jacqueline Cronsberg.

Standards

MetroWest Ballet intends to provide a warm and nurturing atmosphere of small classes and individual attention and to uphold the highest standards of classical ballet training.

A dancer with professional aspirations must obtain a strong technical foundation. MetroWest Ballet will provide that foundation. Renowned teacher, Jacqueline Cronsberg, founder of Ballet Workshop New England and Massachusetts Youth Ballet, has stated that MetroWest Ballet provides superior classical ballet training to the Boston, Metro West and Worcester areas. MetroWest Ballet is proud to be able to provide such high level training.

All students deserve individual attention, warmth, and understanding. Regardless of their long-term goals and natural ability, every student at MetroWest Ballet will have the same high expectations placed upon them. Each student as an individual will be guided and encouraged to meet their objectives and improve upon themselves. Class size is kept small in an effort to achieve this goal. Alumni

Students deserve to be recognized for their hard work and abilities.
Therefore, MetroWest Ballet will provide its students with several performing opportunities each year. A full length performance of The Nutcracker is presented each year as well as Nutcracker Tea Parties. A Spring Concert is held in May, and MWBallet is pleased to be a part of lecture demonstrations and collaborations with local performance groups. Performances

The expectations placed upon a young person should be high, yet attainable.
The structured syllabus at MetroWest Ballet takes into account the natural physical development of a young dancer. The emphasis of the program is placed upon class work and technique rather than preparation for performances and glitzy costumes.
