| MetroWest Ballet intends to provide a warm and nurturing atmosphere of small classes and individual attention and to uphold the highest standards of classical ballet training, standards which the Director has long shared with her teacher and mentor, Jacqueline Cronsberg. Mrs. Cronsberg is the founder of Ballet Workshop New England and the Massachusetts Youth Ballet and the current Artistic Advisor to Boston Ballet School's newly established performing group, the Boston Ballet School Ensemble.
A dancer with professional aspirations must obtain a strong technical foundation. MetroWest Ballet will provide that foundation. In fact, Jacqueline Cronsberg has stated that MetroWest Ballet will provide superior classical ballet training to the Boston, Metro West and Worcester areas. MetroWest Ballet is proud to be able to provide such high level training.
All students deserve individual attention, warmth, and understanding. Regardless of their long-term goals and natural ability, every student at MetroWest Ballet will have the same high expectations placed upon them. Each student as an individual will be guided and encouraged to meet their objectives and improve upon themselves. Class size is kept small in an effort to achieve this goal.
Students deserve to be recognized for their hard work and abilities. Therefore, MetroWest Ballet will provide its students with several performing opportunities each year. We are excited to announce that MetroWest Ballet has acquired the sets and costumes originally used by Massachusetts Youth Ballet for The Nutcracker. In November, a Holiday Gala will be presented, and the performance will include the second act of The Nutcracker. A full-length ballet will follow in subsequent years. A Spring Concert will be held in April, and in May, an in-studio performance and awards ceremony, in which every student will receive a certificate, will commemorate the hard work and ballet vocabulary the young dancers in Levels 2 through 5 achieved throughout the year.
The expectations placed upon a young person should be high, yet attainable. The structured syllabus at MetroWest Ballet takes into account the natural physical development of a young dancer. The emphasis of the program is placed upon class work and technique rather than preparation for performances and glitzy costumes. |
